Today I am collaborating with two other fashion bloggers to bring you three ways to style a hat for summer. Make sure to head over and see the summer hats Corina from Now That I Can Do, Momma! and Shannon from Gamine & Stripes are styling!

I decided to style a cloche hat for this post. I like the classic look of a cloche hat, which is a fitted, bell-shaped hat. I also think this type of hat looks great with a dress. I found this Merona Straw Cloche Hat with Black Sash on the Target website for only $12.99. It is made of 88% paper and 12% polyester. This hat is really cute from the side, as it features a brown trim piece around the sash (see Shop the Look section below). Target is a great place to shop if you are wanting to try a new summer hat. Currently, Target.com has a large selection of hats and offers free returns for online orders. All you have to do is print off a free return label and take the package to a UPS drop off site.
My dress is the Karen Scott Boat-Neck Elbow-Sleeve Dress (in deep black) from Macy’s. This basic black dress is easy to dress up or down. I have dressed it up with my gold wedge sandals and jewelry, but you could easily pair it with Converse sneakers for a fun, casual look.
This Karen Scott dress is made of a thick cotton. I recommend hanging cotton dresses to dry (even if the label says to tumble dry) in order to avoid any shrinkage in length. I am wearing a regular medium in this dress and consider the sizing for the dress to be generous. This is a great dress for women with large bustlines, as it provides modesty and plenty of room through the chest area of the garment.
For my handbag, I chose a brown faux crocodile clutch. It adds texture and shine to the outfit and the color coordinates well with the tortoiseshell in my necklace. My bracelet is the Retro Glam Square-Cut Crystal Bracelet from Chloe + Isabel. I love how it has such sparkly stones! (The pictures do not do it justice.) I previously styled this bracelet with a black tee and white jeans, which you can see in this post.
I chose to wear large gold hoops with this outfit. When my hair is down, I prefer to wear larger earrings so they are more noticeable. My necklace is a layered style with a pretty tortoiseshell chain and a pop of turquoise. I absolutely love this necklace, but unfortunately I cannot provide a link as it is no longer available. I chose to pair black sunglasses with this outfit, but you could also go with gold or brown frames as well.
